Yes, Colour is an important choice in terms of the visual appeal of the shade sails.  They should look good against the materials of your home or building.  Colour choice is also important given its nature to provide superior shade.  Darker colours reflect more light and provide more shade.

The choice of colours has expanded considerably over the last couple of years and every taste is now catered for.

We have a range of colour options available in our showroom, alternatively our friendly consultant will show you the colours when attending for your free measure and quote.

Dealing with a licensed shade installer will leave you with peace of mind that your installation is guaranteed not only by Cool Shades and Blinds, but also with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC). We have an extensive list available of installations around the Sunshine Coast which are viewable 24/7.

Shade sails are an excellent option for irregular shaped areas as they can be designed to fit almost any space.  A sail can have multiple corners to allow it to completely cover oddly shaped areas and peaks can be brought to narrow points to reach hard to build in areas

Once a shade sail has been installed by Cool Outdoor Living, you will receive a QBCC warranty of 6 years and 3 months.  Depending on which fabric you select your warranty will range from 3 – 10 years.
All warranties are under normal conditions, if you receive damage to your shade sail during a storm, this will then fall under “storm damage” on your home insurance..

Shade cloth is porous, which means that wind and rainwater can partially filter through.  It is also much lighter than a waterproof sail and therefore labour and material costs are not as expensive as a waterproof sail. Because waterproof sails are also structural membranes, they require much stronger anchorage systems, which adds to the overall cost of the project. A waterproof fabric typically tends to be about twice the price.

A popular option is to connect shade sails or structures to corners of an existing building or house to save on posts and installation costs.

Each project is treated as a case by case basis and we will assess the viability of connecting to your building or house as part of your free measure and quote.

Curved edges are vital in any shade design. In modern sails there is a wire rope that runs throughout the perimeter of the sail to achieve tension through the entire area of the fabric.

This depends entirely on the quality of the sail including the material, stitching, and metal components used. Cool Outdoor Living only offer the highest quality fabrics available which have up to 10 year UV warranties and our threads and 316 marine grade stainless steel parts last even longer!

No! Sails have a great force when the weather gets volatile. The most common failure in a sail structure is the post footing and a regular fence post will not be stable enough support the wind force. As licensed, professional contractors, we will only install shades which are safe and reliable.

While this is very possible it should be noted that shade sails require significant engineering to prevent wind causing the sail to break out of its fittings and possibly damage the existing building or injuring people around when the sail comes loose.
